of the second polymeric phase. As an example, this situation can lead to obtain
an ion-exchange membrane in the form of serial UPU PDMS - polymethacrylic
acid [99]. The size of the hydrophilic domains formed in the second step
depends on the rate of formation of polyacid grid. If MAC polymerization rate is
not high, the domains have a large size. In the case of rapid polymerization
under UV IAC - irradiating the resulting composite hydrogel has a fine structure
and the hydrophilic and hydrophobic continuous phase (polymethacrylic acid
forming channels penetrating the matrix PDMS).
Synthesis of amphiphilic sequential IPN - an alternative approach to the
preparation of silicone-hydrogel (soft contact lenses). Basic requirements for
this type of materials described above. These requirements can be met by using
AMS technology. obtaining AMS method is much simpler with regard to the
components used to synthesize than conetworks method. It does not require the
use of siloxane macromonomers and monomers such costly as TRIS and TMCK.
It will be shown that the synthesis of silicone-hydrogels using AMS method can
have significant technological advantages.
Technology for producing silicone-hydrogel UPU, in [100-105],
comprising the following steps and components. First synthesized siloxane grid
by hydrosilylation reaction between vinyl - and gidridsoderzhaschimi siloxanes
in the presence of H2PtCl6. Saturated crosslinked hydrophilic monomers
polysiloxane (VI and N, N-dimethylacrylamide) with dissolved therein a
crosslinking monomer and a photoinitiator, using as solvent chloroform or
toluene, and the copolymerization is carried out under UV-irradiation. After
completion of the copolymerization, remove the solvent and residual monomers
formed silicone - as IPN hydrogel. The material has properties similar to those
of the known silicone - type hydrogels conetworks. The quantity of water
content, oxygen permeability and high permeability to water vapor indicate
continuity of the hydrophilic and silicone phases. Note the high wettability of the
material (contact angle of 45 °-50 °), which is achieved without - any surface
treatment. It is believed that the UPU fragments nets are less mobile than in
conetworks, so the elements of the hydrophilic phase partially remain on the
surface.
The idea of giving the wettability of silicone-hydrogel using AMS, the
floor - the UPU, realized in materials with an internal humidifier [106, 107], in
which conetworks combined with linear macromolecules of high molecular
weight hydrophilic polymer VI. It was added to the reaction mixture at the
synthesis stage conetwork. The result is a semi-IPN conetwork - PVP. This
material is currently being produced by "Johnson&Johnson" with the trade name
Se - nofilcon. Soft contact lenses made from Senofilcon material have a contact
